Larger drones, like the DJI Express, designed for long-distance deliveries will typically require a fixed takeoff site such as a depot or an airport. Industrial designer Qingsheng Meng shows us what DJI’s version could look like, complete with a large camera dome up front.

What you’ll notice immediately is that it ditches the traditional quadcopter design in favor of wings, making it more similar to a small aircraft. This unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) can be controlled either remotely or set for autonomous operation on a confirmed route with an option for human control at any time. For added stability, there’s also a rear propeller.
