DJI Osmo Nano Reveal
Meet the Osmo Nano, DJI’s latest creation and the lightest action camera yet. This tiny device is smaller than a key fob, yet still manages to pack a big punch. After months of rumors and speculation, DJI has finally released this little beauty and it can clip onto your hat, dangle from a lanyard or even attach to your pet.

The Osmo Nano is DJI’s smallest action camera to date, weighing just 52g and 57mm long. It looks like a toy but don’t be fooled, this is not a gimmick. The camera has the same 1/1.3-inch sensor as the Osmo Action 5 Pro, which shoots 4K at 120fps and has 13.5 stops of dynamic range. That means sharp and bright footage whether you’re climbing a mountain or capturing your dog’s backyard adventures. The sensor size also helps in low light situations including a SuperNight Mode that reduces noise when the sun goes down.

The Osmo Nano’s appeal is its versatility, with its double sided magnetic design that can be attached to a variety of mounts including helmets, caps, pet collars and even a lanyard for hands free shooting. The Multifunctional Vision Dock adds a touchscreen for framing photos and increases battery life but adds 72g to the total weight. It’s still lighter than most standard action cameras. The dock acts as a wireless remote, you can control the camera from up to 10m away, perfect for group shots or hard to reach angles. Flip the dock to face forward for action shots or backward for vlogging and the magnetic mount keeps everything in place.

On its own the Nano can record 4K at 30fps for 55-60 minutes or 90 minutes at 1080p. With the dock it can record 125-135 minutes at 4K and 200 minutes at 1080p. Fast charging via the dock gets you to 80% in 20 minutes so you’re never stuck for long. The camera is waterproof up to 10m, perfect for shallow dives or wet walks, but the dock is only splash resistant (IPX4). For audio artists the Nano supports DJI’s wireless mics and its built in dual microphones handle ambient sound well but speech may sound thin without external mics.

Gesture controls let you start recording with a nod or a tap, which is super useful when your hands are gloved or busy. A pre-record feature records a few seconds of footage before you press the button so you never miss a spontaneous moment. The 143-degree field of view is a mix of wide-angle drama and moderate distortion, and RockSteady 3.0 and HorizonBalancing keep the footage smooth and level even on rough terrain. In low light stabilization can suffer, but adjusting the ISO and shutter speed manually helps keep everything sharp.

The Osmo Nano is priced well; in Canada the 64GB is $309 USD and the 128GB is $339 USD. In Europe it’s €279 and €309, and in the UK it’s £239 and £259. That includes the dock, hat clip, lanyard, protective case, charging cable and magnetic ball-joint mount. Additional attachments like ND filters and a quick-release mount give you more creative options.
