Cross a go-kart with an open-top supercar, and you get the Donkervoort D8 GTO-RS. This street-legal kart is powered by a turbocharged, Audi-sourced 2.5L inline-five engine that generates in excess of 380-horsepower, more than enough for a 1,532-pound track monster. The company plans on building 40 D8 GTO-RSs, each priced at $174,000 each. Currently, 21 have already been purchased, even before being manufactured. “The GTO-RS has a much wider track than the standard Donkevoort D8 GTO and features a thoroughly upgraded braking system, both of which should help it deliver a faster time around the famous German race track. As an essentially dedicated track car, the GTO-RS isn’t exactly dripping with convenience and luxury features, but its all-business interior features plenty of leather and carbon fiber trim,” reports Motor Authority.
