DOOM Running on Computer Keyboard
If running DOOM on a keycap isn’t strange enough, one gamer managed to get the game running on a computer keyboard. More specifically, a tiny screen connected to a computer keyboard using DOOM Nano, which is essentially a 3D raycast engine for Arduino designed specifically for the chip.

This chip runs at 16Mhz, with only 32kb for program memory and 2kb of RAM, of which 1kb is entirely used for the screen. DOOM Nano had to be optimized to use what little program memory is available as well as taking into account the CPU clock speed. However, even with those limitations, this version of DOOM is capable of running at up to 14 FPS.

The rendering engine is more like a Wolfeistein 3D. The DOOM idea came because I started this building the fancy melt-screen effect (included in an early version, but not anymore),” said the developer.
