Epic Games teases their upcoming Star Wars x Fortnite Galactic Battle event, which begins May 2, 2025, at 1:30 AM ET (after server downtime for patch 35.00). It’ll run for about five weeks, ending around June 7, 2025, and essentially a shorter “mini-season” compared to typical Fortnite seasons.
This is a full-on Star Wars collaboration, centered around the Galactic Empire’s invasion, with a five-part saga that unfolds weekly. It’s described as Fortnite’s “most expansive” Star Wars experience yet. It includes iconic characters like Emperor Palpatine and unique mashups like Wookiee Cuddle Team Leader (a Star Wars remix of Fortnite’s Cuddle Team Leader).

Other hinted-at skins include Darth Jar Jar (a big hit from LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy), Mace Windu (found in the Item Shop), and a Mandalorian outfit you can change with different armor pieces.

The game has new and returning gameplay elements, like piloting or co-piloting X-Wings and TIE Fighters for air battles, plus lightsabers and blasters, as well as a brand-new Force Lightning ability. Multiple Star Wars-themed POIs can be explored, including a confirmed Tatooine location. Leaks suggest three bosses, five henchmen, and six interactable NPCs will shake up landing spots.

Unlike past Star Wars events, this season ties into Fortnite’s storyline, making it more immersive. Launching just before May the 4th, it’s perfectly timed for Star Wars fans to dive into the festivities.
