Figure 01 just got an OpenAI upgrade that enables the humanoid robot to have full conversations with humans, thanks to the ChatGPT maker’s large vision language model (VLM). The two companies aim to develop next generation AI models for humanoid robots by combining OpenAI’s research with Figure’s deep understanding of robotics hardware as well as software.
Where is Figure storing all this data? The company is leveraging Microsoft Azure for AI infrastructure, training, and storage. This means that Figure 01 has complete access to Microsoft’s AI infrastructure and services to support and assist people with real world applications.
