Dong Nguyen, creator of Flappy Bird, pulled the game from app stores over 10-years ago, but now, it’s set to make a triumphant return to mobile devices. This is being made possible due to the fans working at the Flappy Bird Foundation who acquired the official rights from Gametech Holdings.
This refreshed version of the game features several new characters including Trixy, a three-eyed wonder, Peng, a plump penguin who dreams of soaring the skies, and Tekno, a cutting edge robotic bird. Gone are the days of a single game mode, as Flappy Bird Rivals lets you compete with up to 99 players at once, while a basketball mode has you shooting characters through hoops. It’s set to be released later this year on both iOS and Android platforms.
