Flint’s paper battery can fully biodegrade in just 6-weeks when buried in soil while offering a comparable lifespan compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries. This water-based, rechargeable battery technology was developed by Flint from the ground up with sustainability at its core.

How does it work? There is a ring of hydrogel within a piece of paper that functions as an electrolyte and a separator. Its explosion-proof, leak-proof, and most importantly, immune to combustion risks, ensuring near-zero fire hazards even under extreme conditions. Plus, the paper battery is designed to maintain functionality even when punctured, bent, or damaged, allowing new form factors for various applications. The company recently raised $2 million in seed funding raised from private investors across nine countries and AI-driven VC firm Hatcher+. Practical applications include defense & security, energy storage systems, critical power supply, consumer electronics, space applications, and even electric vehicles.
