Stryker Laser Weapon Drone

When mounted on a Stryker 8×8 armored military vehicle, thee Mobile High Energy Laser (MEHEL) weapon system can instantly destroy drones at the push of a button. The on-board radar tacking and camera enables soldiers to visually track enemy drones as well as aircraft, and the current version of the MEHEL can achieve five kilowatts of power. By next year, they expect the laser to have at least an 18-kilowatt beam. “They love the system and they are excited about not only what they can do with it in the air, but what they can do with it on the ground as well,” said Lieutenant colonel, Jeff Erts.
