Previously, McDonald’s customers had to shell out $2.95 for two hours of wireless internet, but now the chain has begun offering free WiFi at 11,500 of its 14,000 locations in the US. There are no restrictions on the length of usage, which could mean breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the golden arches for those who decide to stay all-day. “We don’t mind at all if people step in take advantage of the Wi-Fi and linger a bit,” Grooms said. McDonald’s is providing the wireless service through a partnership with AT&T Inc. The company would not disclose the terms of the contract or how much it will spend on the change.
