On April 16th at approximately 5:45pm, a giant solar flare, the size of 10 earths, was photographed by NASA’s SDO spacecraft. The top image above shows what the solar flare looked like before detaching itself from the sun, and its height was 25 earth radii high. Continue reading for a breathtaking video.
