Google rarely ever goes down worldwide, but there was apparently a search outage at approximately 3pm EST today, according to the company’s new social / Twitter search function — image above shows “a massive spike around 3pm to 3:30pm today.” Fortunately, it was just a small hiccup, and hopefully for the better (testing new features, etc.).
