GoPro Avalanche Colorado
Photographer Brett Schreckengost’s GoPro Hero12 Black action camera just happened to be in the right place and time to capture incredible footage of an avalanche in Telluride, Colorado.

Aside from human / animal activity, avalanches can also be triggered by various natural forces such as precipitation, earthquakes, or just weakening of the snowpack. If you’re walking around and notice that cracks are forming in the snow around your feet or skis, an avalanche may be coming. Fortunately, Schreckengost was able to safely capture this footage and even took home a $1,000 GoPro award for doing so.
