Noel Cruz is an artist unlike any other, in that he transforms mass-produced action figures into photo-realistic miniatures. Techniques used include face contouring, shading, add highlights, all to add depth to these figures. Once completed, he visits a photo studio to take professional-looking “before” and “after” shots. The results are amazing to say the least, with many looking near identical to their real-life counterparts. Continue reading for more pictures.

“Since dolls are basically miniature pieces…brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled. In addition to the acrylic pigment, he also restyles the doll’s hair. This often involves trimming or setting tiny curlers to add volume into the wigs,” said Cruz.
