It’s official, the Huawei Mate 50 is the first flagship smartphone to boast satellite connectivity via China’s Beidou constellation. Other features include a 6.7-inch curved OLED display, a Qualcomm SM8475 Snapdragon 8+ SoC, up to 512GB of internal storage, a triple rear camera (50MP Main + 12MP Periscope Telephoto + 13MP Ultra-Wide), a 13MP selfie camera, and a 4,460mAh battery.



There’s also a Huawei Mate 50 Pro, which has a slightly larger 6.74-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a larger 4,700mAh battery with 66W wired fast charging as well as 50W wireless charging. Both models run the company’s own HarmonyOS 3, which offers a new emergency mode capable of keeping the device on standby for an additional three hours with just one percent battery. Available now in China, priced from $716.51 USD. What’s next for the company? Well, a Huawei engineer built this self-driving bicycle that we may see in stores sooner than later.
