HydraJet is a small, radio-controlled (RC) hydroplaning boat made by CovaConcepts, a new startup run by Tamara, an inventor with a background in aerospace engineering. This isn’t your usual RC boat—it’s a hydroplane, which means it glides fast across the water’s top, not like hydrofoils that lift up using fins below. It’s kind of a mix between a hydroplane and an airboat because of its innovative way of propulsion.
It’s built from reused carbon fiber, so the HydraJet is light but tough, letting it zip along the water really efficiently. It has a 70-mm electric fan (called an EDF) on top, powered by a 2,900-mAh battery, that pushes air to make the boat go, a bit like an airboat.
- Fast and Far Range: The max speed of this high speed boat reaches to 30 kmh. There are three speed modes for your preference. The control range is up...
- Worry-Free Play with One Key Self-righting and Waterproof Hull: If it flips, water won’t go inside and damage the boat; and you can flip the boat...
- Low Battery/Over Distance/Signal Interference Alarm: The control will make beeping warning when the battery is low, or the boat is over distance, or...

The HydraJet is built to go fast and move nimbly, racing over the water’s top. As you can see in the video, the boat glides along smoothly and speedily, making it a big hit with R/C boat fans. Tamara hasn’t yet shared exact speed numbers, but she wants to try new wing shapes to make it go even faster.

Right now, the HydraJet is a mini model, but Tamara wants to make a bigger one later. She’s thinking about changing it to a foiling design for the full-size version to make the ride smoother, but that’s still just an idea.
