It’s official, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 robotaxi has passed its driver’s license test in Nevada after completing a series of public-level driving tests, including road driving on the world famous Las Vegas Strip. The autonomous system allowed the robotaxi to safely maintain speed control, lane changes and maneuvering.
IONIQ 5 was also able to showcase its ability to accurately stop at a stop sign, perform left turns, and react in real-time to developing hazards. This milestone signifies the extensive collaboration between Hyundai Motor Group and autonomous driving technology developer Motional, which enabled the IONIQ 5 robotaxi to achieves consistent driving performance in various driving environments.
