Kiravan Expedition Vehicle

Applied Minds co-founder Bran Ferren has completed “Kiravan”, or in other words, what the USS Enterprise would look like as a 23-ton expedition vehicle that can go anywhere. It’s based on a modified Mercedes-Benz Unimog U500NA truck, complete with a fully customized composite trailer. Inside, you’ll find a kitchenette, full bathroom, and a comfortable penthouse suite. Technology wise, it features kevlar-reinforced tires, small drones to scout the terrain ahead, and seven communication masts reaching heights of 60-feet. Its communications system is can contact nearby aircraft in case of emergency, while its readings are displayed on a host of touchscreen displays in the main cabin. There’s even a ‘situational awareness system’ comprised of 22 cameras and a ‘hydro-drive’ control, which allows you to switch between four, and six wheel drive for rough terrain.
