In case of mid-flight emergency, this is the plane you want to be on. Engineers have designed an aircraft with a detachable cabin that can be released at the push of a button in emergencies, safely landing on the ground or water, saving everyone on board. There are parachutes attached to the roof of the cabin that are instantly released when the cabin is detached, along with inflatable rubber tubes to cushion the impact on ground or water. Since a storage compartment is located directly beneath the cabin, no luggage will be lost during the detachment process. Continue reading for a video and more information.
“Surviving in a plane crash is possible. While aircraft engineers all over the world are trying to make planes safer, they can do nothing about the human factor. The existing technology of using of Kevlar and carbon composites for fuselage, wings, flaps, spoilers, ailerons, tail will be used during the design. It allows to partly compensate the weight of parachute system,” said aviation engineer Vladimir Tatarenko.
