Apple officially announced the iPhone 5 today, and pre-orders begin on September 14th. Everything leaked thus far has been correct, as it features a 16:9 panoramic 4-inch Retina Display, 4G LTE connectivity, an 8.0-megapixel camera, all packed into a shell that’s 18% thinner than its predecessor. It’s obvious that the iPhone 5 shares the same design language as the iPhone 4 and 4S before it, and it’s clear that Apple was very careful when it came to modifying that chassis. Jony Ive said so himself during the event. There are plenty of improvements, but there are also a lot of similarities.
