A magnitude 6.6 earthquake rocked northern Japan earlier today, with its effects being felt all the way in Tokyo some 150-miles away. Fortunately, there were no reports of any major damage or injuries.

Expressways were closed for checks and police and fire departments were quoted as saying there were no reports of damage after the quake, NHK said.
