You haven’t seen an expedition vehicle, until you’ve seen KiraVan. Designed by Bran Ferren, co-founder and chief creative officer of tech firm Applied Minds, this 6-wheeler is a globe-trotting expedition vehicle that was built so he could explore the world with his daughter, Kira. The idea came to him while working as a Hollywood location scout. He decided upon the Mercedes-Benz Unimog as the base vehicle after seeing it displayed at New York’s Museum of Modern Art. The KiraVan can traverse a 45-degree slope, thanks to 46-inch tires with Kevlar shields, a nitrogen-hydraulic suspension system, along with a Mercedes diesel engine that pumps out 260hp and 700 lb-ft of torque. Inside the trailer, there’s a fully equipped office, galley kitchen, a tent-style sleeper penthouse loft and bathroom. Click here to view the first image in today’s viral picture gallery.
