Larry Page officially took over CEO duties today at Google, with Eric Schmidt, the former chief executive, stepping into an Executive Chairman position at the company. Plus, “Mr Schmidt is expected to take a wider role in so-called ‘outreach’, travelling the world to explain Google’s ambitions.” Here is what Mr. Schmidt has to say:

‘I am enormously proud of my last decade as CEO and I am certain that the next 10 years under Larry will be even better! Larry, in my clear opinion, is ready to lead.’
