Lenovo, assistive technology non-profit the Scott-Morgan Foundation, and DeepBrain AI partnered to reveal a hyper-realistic 3D AI avatar generator at CES 2024. The ultimate goal is to help preserve the voice, personality, and physical mannerisms of someone with a degenerative disease.
This AI-powered avatar takes traditional voice synthesis to the next level by helping transform communication as well as connection for people with severe disabilities. Erin Taylor, a 24-year-old woman recently diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a neurodegenerative disorder that typically leads to full-body paralysis, tested a proof of concept for assistive communication.
