It’s official, a limited edition Xbox-themed Meta Quest headset is coming soon. Why? A new Meta Horizon OS is being made available to third-party hardware makers, including Microsoft.
Meta Horizon OS will include technologies such as inside-out tracking, as well as eye, face, hand, and body tracking for more natural interactions. A full stack of technologies for seamlessly blending the digital and physical worlds, including high-resolution Passthrough, Scene Understanding, and Spatial Anchors, is available to developers for mixed reality applications. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability.
