LimX CL-1 Humanoid Robot Lift Heavy Object
LimX’s CL-1 humanoid robot continuously lifted heavy objects to show just how it can help around the house should there be a commercial version in the next few years. This recent demo shows it lifting heavy objects and loading them among shelves in a simulated warehouse.

Engineers discovered that by enhancing whole-body motion control and real-time perceptive loco-manipulation with hardware upgrades, CL-1 was able to adopt multiple postures, including loaded deep squat, loaded stand from a squat, loaded lift, as well as loaded walking. These upgrades enable it to lift as well as unload objects with as much as 80cm vertical span by coordinating leg and arm movements as one. It can also filter out unpredictable external disturbances, re-locates the target object, and autonomously reroute the task.
