LimX’s CL-1 can climb stairs, while Sanctuary AI’s Phoenix Gen 7 humanoid robot can learn new tasks and perform them autonomously in under 24-hours. This is made possible by the company’s new AI control system called Carbon, which gives the robot human-like intelligence to perform a variety of tasks.
Engineers also managed to shrink the hydraulics systems to make Phoenix lighter and consume less power, while the build process has also been streamlined, enabling the company to bring more units online faster. There’s no word yet on when we’ll see these in factories or warehouses, but you can rest assured that Amazon definitely is keeping a close eye on this robot.
