UK-based Compass Pools has proposed the world’s first 360° infinity pool atop the 55-story Infinity London skyscraper. In addition to the breathtaking views from all angles, the pool’s walls and floor are completely transparent, so you’ll be able to view the skyline even when swimming. It’s made of cast acrylic and a built-in anemometer monitors windspeeds, while a a digitally-controlled building management system ensures optimal water temperature. Getting into or leaving the pool will be something straight out of a science fiction movie. Turns out that finding a way for swimmers to actually get inside the pool without obscuring the view was tricky. So, the architects had to compromise by adding a rotating spiral staircase based on a submarine that will rise from the pool floor when a swimmer wants to get in or get out.
