The LuminAID PackLite 12 is great for both emergencies and outdoor activities, as it provides up to 12 hours of LED light, or 32-hours in blinking emergency mode. It twists flat and inflates for maximum portability. The battery comes partially charged, but for full power, you’ll need to first charge it in direct sunlight for approximately 7-hours. LuminAID’s patent-pending solar LED inflatable technology was designed by two architecture students, Andrea Sreshta and Anna Stork, shortly after the January 2010 earthquake in Haiti. When thinking about what they could design to make a difference, Andrea and Anna decided to focus on lighting because it had the potential to greatly improve the comfort, safety and survival of disaster victims. Inspired to design a simple, solar-powered lighting product that could be easily distributed in times of emergency, they developed their first solar inflatable light and founded LuminAID to bring the technology to market.
