Magnet Tube

The Magnet Tube Magnetic Field Viewer from ThinkGeek is essentially “a sealed plastic tube filled with iron filings and a tunnel where the Alnico magnet fits in — give the tube a shake and the iron filings collect and connect, showing the arcs of the magnetic fields.” Click here for first picture in gallery.

This is a great little science fair-y experiment and also an awesome desk toy. ‘Cause you can slide the magnetic back and forth and make the iron filings dance. It’s a scientific hula.
