The guys over at Maximum PC spent approximately 2-weeks and only $350 piecing together a functional multi-touch surface computer. Best of all, it “utilizes all open source software (Touchlib, AMCap, FlashOSC) to power the machine.” Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.

The process isn’t exactly simple, but the results we saw were stunning: multitouch surfaces with responsiveness rivaling Microsoft’s $12,000 offering, built in a garage on a shoestring budget.
