Menzi Muck Spider Excavator Digger
The Menzi Muck may look like a real-life Transformers robot to some, but it’s actually a Swiss-built excavator that moves on legs rather than tracks, thus giving it the nickname of a spider excavator. It’s designed specially for the steep Alpine terrain in Europe. Despite how it looks, operating one of these machines is quite simple, as the driver only has two joysticks and foot pedals to control the excavator with.

It’s most commonly used to remove debris from swamps, clean up after mudslides, repair eroded gullies / roadways, clear fallen timber on steep hillsides and move cypress pines on fence lines. However, throw this machine on a pile of dirt, and you’ve got yourself a show worth watching. How much does one of these cost? Well, you’ll have to pay at least $460,000 USD for a new example, but there may be a few used models at a fraction of that.
