Motorola RAZR Fold 2026
Motorola debuted the RAZR Fold during the 2026 Mobile World Congress. Now, this is their first foldable phone that can be opened like a book rather than simply flipping the lid shut. Bottom line, the device came with a solid set of hardware options that actually address some of the issues you’d ordinarily dislike about foldables, such as short battery life, poor screens in sunlight, and cameras that can’t compete with the big guys.

When this thing is closed, a 6.6-inch pOLED panel takes care of your everyday tasks with a 2520 x 1080 resolution that’s sharp enough to look good and a refresh rate that can go up to 165 Hz depending on what you’re using it for, but flip it open and you get an 8.1-inch inner display made of LTPO pOLED with a resolution of 2484 x 2232 and a steady 120 Hz refresh rate. The brightness may reach up to 6000 nits on the cover screen and 6200 nits inside, allowing you to read in direct sunshine without squinting. Colors appear very accurate as well, thanks to Pantone certification and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, which prevents your videos from being washed out.

The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 CPU and has 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It’s all quite fluid; apps switch over quickly, multitasking on split screens isn’t awkward, and AI features handle tasks like summarizing notifications or performing real-time transcription without delay. Motorola promises to provide seven years of Android OS updates and security patches beginning with Android 16, so you can be confident that your software will be up to date for an extended period of time.

The battery life on this thing is rather impressive, at 6000 mAh, thanks to revolutionary silicon-carbon technology that allows them to pack more energy into a narrow chassis. So, this device can last a full day of heavy use, such as streaming, editing, or simply gaming. When it does need to be charged, it has 80W wired charging, with Motorola claiming that a 12-minute session will provide more than 12 hours of use, as well as 50W wireless and 5W reverse wireless. Physically, the phone is quite thin (4.6 mm when open and 9.9 mm when closed), and it weighs 243 grams, so it strikes a good mix between mobility and endurance. It also includes extremely rapid charging, which will offer you hours of use from only a few minutes plugged in, and stereo speakers tuned by Bose, which should give you clear as day audio with Dolby Atmos to boot.

The cameras have received a significant boost, with three 50-megapixel sensors on the back: the main one is a Sony LYTIA 828 with optical image stabilisation, followed by an ultrawide/macro lens combo and a 3x periscope telephoto for magnified images up to 100x with AI assistance. It supports 8K video, Dolby Vision, and AI advancements to improve low-light performance and color accuracy. Oh, and there’s a 32-megapixel camera on the cover screen for quick selfies and a 20-megapixel one on the inner display for… well, interior images. Early results were promising, with the device receiving a DXOMARK Gold rating and ranking first among foldable camera phones.

Motorola RAZR Fold 2026
It has an IP48/IP49 classification (which indicates how well it withstands water exposure) and very standard dust protection, so you shouldn’t be taking it to the beach anytime soon. In terms of accessories, you can purchase a Moto Pen Ultra stylus separately, which, while not cheap, works on both displays and has a plethora of amazing features such as pressure sensitivity and palm rejection.

Motorola RAZR Fold 2026
Motorola is introducing it in Europe for €1,999, which might include the stylus, and it will be available in a few other select markets over the following months. They also say it will arrive in North America, albeit we don’t know how much it will cost.
