It’s no Atari Portfolio, but MovieCart does let you play real full-length movies on original Atari 2600 hardware in full-color. Watching movies in 80×192 pixel resolution may not be ideal with a limited color palette may not be ideal, but it does work.
How does it work? You basically load movies onto a microSD card by first converting standard MP4 files into the MVC format that MovieCart can read. Once loaded, you simply insert the MovieCart cartridge into the Atari 2600, and you’re ready to watch such films as the original Westworld. If you’re interested, it costs $24.99, but you’ll probably want a cartridge enclosure.
