NASA Astronaut Butch Wilmore Sound Boeing Starliner
This past weekend on August 31st, NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore contacted Mission Control to report an unusual sound coming from the Boeing Starliner spacecraft’s speaker ahead of its return to Earth. He said it was similar to a pulsing noise, almost like a sonar ping of sorts, occurring at regular intervals.

When docked, the Starliner spacecraft is connected via hardline to the ISS, which enabled Mission Control to link up and record the sounds you hear in the short clip here. With that said, NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore are both set to return to Earth on a SpaceX Dragon capsule in February 25, as the Starliner spacecraft will undock no later than September 6.
