NASA has just released a video showing Earth’s weather patterns from August 17th, 2009 to August 26th, 2009, “created at a 7-kilometer resolution with NASA’s GEOS-5 atmospheric general circulation model.” Video after the break.
It’s based on the Earth System Modeling Framework, an open source project “for building climate, numerical weather prediction, data assimilation, and other Earth science software applications.”
