Nintendo 3DS Kiosk
When the Nintendo 3DS hit stores in North America on March 27, 2011, the best way to experience the handheld was getting some hands-on time with it. The safest and most efficient way for stores to do this was by using kiosks, like the one you see above. Unfortunately, most 3DS kiosks were destroyed at the end of its production run.

Elliot of The Retro Future managed to find this 3DS Store Display Kiosk on the side of a road, but in battered condition. First, the metal parts had to be disassembled for some deep cleaning, namely rust, along with fixing the electronics inside them. As for the labels, they had to be recreated in image editing software. The end result is a kiosk worthy to be displayed in any electronics store, or just the room of a Nintendo collector.

Nintendo 3DS Kiosk

Hi, I’m a ex employee of Nintendo of America, worked there for about 3 years. Near the end of me working there I destroyed around 20 of those 3DS displays personally but near the end we were told to start just gutting them instead because the metal bodies we’re becoming inconvenient for scraping. There is a mild chance I did that or know the person who did that. You’re welcome,” said one commenter.
