While the ONVO L60 is targeted at families, the NIO Firefly can be considered more of a sport compact EV for those who don’t need maximum storage space. Priced from around $20,393 USD in China, this entry level model still supports the company’s battery swapping technology, unlike its competitors, the MINI SE and the Smart EQ Fortwo.
This means that Firefly should also benefit from NIO’s BaaS (battery as a service) battery rental purchase program when it officially launches, which will most certainly bring down the starting price of the vehicle even more. Other technical specifications have not yet been revealed, such as range and horsepower, but deliveries are expected to begin start in April, with a European launch slated for Q2-Q3.
