Nokia 9210i Communicator Smartphone 2001
Released in June 2001, the Nokia 9210i Communicator is a smartphone that was far ahead of its time. Not only did it have a color TFT screen, but also an ARM processor that enabled the device to send and receive fax.

Technically speaking, it features a 32-bit 66 MHz ARM9-based RISC CPU, 8MB of RAM, 40MB of internal storage, and a removable Li-Ion 1300 mAh battery good for up to 10-hours of talk time. What really set it apart was the Open Symbian operating system, based on Symbian v6.0, but later on, its user interface was criticized as less intuitive compared to newer platforms like Android and iOS, eventually leading to its waning popularity. We don’t have an exact retail price for the 9210i Communicator, but some users from 2001 reported seeing them on sale for 1,200 Euros ($2,200 USD).

Nokia 9210i Communicator Smartphone Specs 2001

I was a huge Nokia junkie in the early 2000s. From the 8890, to the 3650, 6600, and one of these which was years later but no doubt my holy grail. You couldn’t get these unless you were in the city in some random cell phone store paying hundreds. It was so worth it though,” said one commenter.
