Automotive enthusiast Jorge Gomez commissioned the world’s first and only Pagani Zonda Carpincho made from 100,000 gold coins as a tribute to football icon Lionel Messi. Why? One reason may be that Gomez, Messi, and Horacio Pagani all have Argentinian roots.
Artist Joaquin Arbiza used 100,000 $2 Uruguayan coins to piece this supercar replica together with more than 500,000 soldering points. Unfortunately (or fortunately), this creation does not have a working engine, although we’re sure that one could be installed fairly easily. Just for reference, the real Pagani Zonda Carpincho is powered by a BMW 850i-sourced 5.0L V12 engine making around 300 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Want to see it in person? Stop by Pagani of Miami on 14800 Biscayne Blvd.
