Razer’s new Kraken Kitty V2 Gengar Edition has landed in the US and it’s a fun yet functional Pokémon-inspired headset for gamers and collectors. Previously only available in China, this wired headset replaces the normal Kraken Kitty’s cat ears with Gengar’s purple spikes.
Gengar, the Ghost/Poison-type Pokémon from the first generation, inspired every part of this headset’s design. The headband has a deep purple tint, like Gengar’s ghostly hide, and spiky accents that mimic the Pokémon’s tuft and ears. Each earcup has a Gengar silhouette lit up by Razer’s Chroma RGB lighting, which can be customized with various colors and effects. Inside the earcup liners is a detailed Gengar illustration, a little something for those who like the details.

The 40mm TriForce drivers produce clear highs, balanced mids, and deep lows so games and music sound crisp and distortion free. You can sync the lighting to react to in-game events or stream alerts, add an extra layer to your setup. Unlike the standard Kraken Kitty V2 which has a Bluetooth variant, this edition is wired only, so no battery worries but limited portability. For those who prioritize style and performance over wireless freedom, it’s a fair trade off.
Released globally on August 19, 2025, the Gengar Edition is now available in the US, Canada, Europe, Australia and other countries on Razer’s website. It’s $139.99 more than the base Kraken Kitty V2 which is $99.99 but the extra cost is for the Pokémon logo and design.
