The Pokemon World Championships 2023 took place in Yokohama, Japan this past weekend and kicking things off was a dazzling light show put on by 800 drones. Now some of you might be wondering how these LED-equipped drones are able to form these Pokemon characters and the answer is GPS combined with radio signals. This enables a central computer to precisely control their movements as well as timing.
When all of the drones are in place and properly programmed, the show begins. Each drone then moves in sync with the others, creating intricate patterns, designs and Pokemon characters in this case. Once everything is over, the drones are programmed to safely land together before being collected by the team. Did you know that the global drone light show market size was valued at $1.3 billion in 2021, and is projected to reach $2.2 billion by 2031?
