These nifty remote-controlled Mario Kart toys from Japan — not the same ones found at ThinkGeek — let you play the Nintendo classic in real-life, complete with power-ups. That’s right, the “controller emits that familiar jingling item select sound when you’ve snagged a virtual power-up.” Video after the break.

Sadly there is no drifting to be found in this version of the game, but we’re wondering if a little tape on the rear wheels wouldn’t help address that shortcoming.
