A stunning ring around the moon, also known as a lunar halo, was spotted again last night. Just to recap, this happens when “light is refracted (or bent) by ice crystals, making a 22 degree halo.” Video after the break.

A halo around the moon forms in the same way a halo around the sun forms. Weather folklores say that a halo around the sun or moon means bad weather is on the way.
