Rivian’s Halloween 2024 software update includes nods to Back to the Future’s DeLorean DMC-12 Time Machine and K.I.T.T. in the form of Car Costumes. This means that you’ll see Gear Guard donning Doc Brown’s lab coat and glasses.
By choosing ‘Time Machine’ as your car costume, you’ll see the interior screen transform into the Back to the Future interface, complete with music and the Time Machine acceleration sound effect from the film. Gen 2 owners can even hit the 88mph button to engage Back to the Future themed lighting and sound effects in the front as well as rear of the vehicle. Knight Rider turns your interior display system into K.I.T.T.’s diagnostics and even plays the original show intro music.
