The all-new Samsung 4TB SSD 990 PRO builds upon its predecessors and boasts improved total bytes written (TBW) ratings of up to 2,400TB, ensuring reliability and longevity, ideal for those with highly demanding workloads as well as large storage capacity needs. It offers near-max performance in a PCIe 4.0 interface, with sequential read speeds of up to 7,450 megabytes-per-second (MB/s) and write speeds of up to 6,900MB/s.
This new expanded capacity of 4TB provides boosted random read and write speeds of up to 1,600K and 1,550K IOPS respectively, making it perfect for gamers, creative professionals as well as tech enthusiasts seeking blazing fast storage space. It also achieves breakthrough power efficiency, with an up to 50% performance improvement in comparison to the previous 980 PRO series, thanks to a nickel coating on the controller and heat spreader label on the back side of the SSD. Both the 4TB 990 PRO and 4TB 990 PRO with Heatsink will be available in early October 2023, with pricing yet to be announced.
