Samsung introduces the Movingstyle, a 27-inch touchscreen display that can be pushed around the floor on hidden wheels, lifted off its stand, and carried around like a huge briefcase.
First, the stand – Samsung designed a floor mount that is as tall as it is wide, with urethane wheels hidden underneath. Simply plug it in, and the stand will charge the screen as you move the entire setup from the living room to the kitchen or out to the balcony. There’s a single button on the back that allows the display to slip straight off–nice. Grab the sturdy handle that goes at the very top, and the 12 pound panel will pop free. The handle will now swing down into a kickstand, allowing the screen to sit flat on a table or countertop in landscape mode alone.

The battery lasts around three hours, which is probably adequate for a long movie or two episodes, but anyone who plans on being away from a power outlet for the day should keep the stand near by. Samsung appeared to have assumed that this device was intended for short travels around the house rather than all-day use. Leave the stand connected in, and the screen will just charge when you plug it back in.
The actual panel features a sharp resolution of 2560 x 1440 and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The colours are bright and beautiful thanks to HDR10+, and the built-in speakers can handle Dolby Atmos audio, which is a lovely touch. You may connect your phone via USB-C and mirror it on the screen, or you can stream directly to services like Samsung TV Plus and Gaming Hub over Wi-Fi. You can play Xbox, GeForce Now, and Luna games without a console, which is handy. Touch controls provide rudimentary navigation, Bixby responds to voice queries, and a remote control is included for those who want a more traditional experience.

Carrying a 27-inch slab about by its handle feels strange at first, because 12 pounds is light for a television but heavy for anything you can grasp in one hand. The kickstand works well on a desk, but the screen normally requires a full stand to be comfortable. That being said, rolling it over the floor or carpet is no trouble at all; the silent wheels glide along smoothly. The height adjusts, the arm swivels, and you can quickly flip between landscape and portrait modes. Moving things from one room to another can be enjoyable.

Samsung loads the software with extras like the Samsung Art Store, which turns the screen into a digital frame with thousands of paintings. Sketch Now lets you draw with your finger – no stylus required. To control playback on a Galaxy Watch, you wave your hand. Multi Control lets you drag files from a nearby Samsung phone or laptop onto the big screen. When the screen is idle, the Daily Board widgets show the weather, memos and music controls.

Ports are hidden on the back: two USB-C and one HDMI. Bluetooth works with soundbars and headphones. Seven years of OS updates and Knox security are included as standard. Tizen’s one UI has individual accounts for everyone in the family with tailored recommendations. At $1,200, the detachable Movingstyle is for people who already have multiple Samsung devices and want seamless movement.
