Samsung has just unviled a 3.5-inch hTSP (hybrid Touch Screen Panel) display, which eliminates the need for a separate printed circuit board (PCB) by integrating all sensor circuitry inside the panel itself. Practical applications include cell phones, UMPCs, and PDAs. No word yet on availability.

Adding to production cost efficiencies, the company produced the touch screen circuitry inside the new panel using the same thin-film transistor (TFT) processing that it uses today in mass production at existing LCD facilities.
