Konami’s official Unreal Engine 5-powered Silent Hill 2 remake is set for release on October 8th, but how does it stack up to the original game? This fan graphics comparison provides us with the answer, or at least visually.
The first thing you’ll notice is the modernized third-person camera system, where James is seen exploring environments from the original, but on a larger scale. Combat has been completely revamped, complete with enemies reacting to gunfire and James can now use melee weapons, as in the original, while stealth has also been implemented.

Remake is looking really good from what I’m seeing but so far my main problem is the voice acting especially with the opening with Mary narrating her letter, I feel like the VA of Mary in the remake is speaking too fast compared to the original where Mary just speaks slowly showing the ominous and emotional attachment that Mary has to James in the letter,” said one commenter.
