Louisa Ball, a 15-year-old who lives in the UK, has been struck by a rare illness called the Sleeping Beauty Syndrome. Basically, the victims live normally for days/weeks at a time and then “they’ll go to sleep for days or weeks at a time; Louisa’s longest bout in bed has been 13 days.” Video after the break.

Victims will wake briefly, but be disoriented and not fully alert. Louisa’s parents force her awake so she can use the bathroom and eat.
